Merry Mines of Moria
Knowing what we know about Gimli’s cousin’s home, it (maybe) doesn’t make sense to call the Mines of Moria merry. They’re underground, feature nothing but grey stone décor, craggy stairs, and even the occasional skeletal remain. That doesn’t really scream holiday spirit—unless we’re talking Halloween. Then again, we have to wonder, does the Balrog help brighten any gloomy moods? That towering fire fiend should easily be able to spread some light, warmth, and (heck) even some cheer with that ancient presence of theirs. And, if so, inviting the Balrog over for some winter holiday celebrating doesn’t seem like such a bad idea! In fact, it has us feeling utterly jolly about having Moria’s hottest resident on every holiday guest list!
