Too Uniform
We have the utmost respect for the military. And honestly? We have no idea how they do what they do. The early mornings, the drills, the discipline... we have trouble trying to get out of be in the morning, let alone waking up at the crack of dawn. We appreciate all the skill and self-control it must take to be a member of the military. Although, the one thing we really can't figure out? The uniforms. Sure, they look spiffy. And all those fancy medals and ribbons? Well earned. What we don't get is how military members manage to wear such fancy dress uniforms like all the time. Like, full-length pants, shirts, and jackets on 90 degree days. Sure, it looks professional, but surely it's hot, no? Like it's gotta be uncomfortable, right?
Which is why we would love to see some more practical options when it came to military uniforms. Something a little lighter. Or maybe even something a little more fun, for Pete's sake! These men and women are protecting the country, that doesn't mean that they can look like they're at least enjoying themselves.
Fun Details
We envision something like our Military General Costume for Women. This stretch knit polyester romper has a hidden zipper up the front. The collar, cuffs, and pocket flaps have a shiny finish, and there's even decorative buttons and embroidery, along with red trim. This outfit comes with a hat with adjustable ban and wrist-length white gloves. It looks playful, proper. Formal, yet relaxed. Wouldn't this be a better alternative than a full-on uniform?
Just Saying
Of course, it occurs to us that the military has probably put up with way more uncomfortable situations that some hot clothes. And tactically speaking, they probably wouldn't want too much skin showing. Still, it's nice to have options, right?
