Steam to the Punk?

At last! Our favorite culture movement has gone mainstream and we can walk about in its gorgeous couture without fear of judgment! ... Sorry? Oh. We're talking about steampunk of course!... You...you don't know what steampunk is? *sigh*. So much for mainstream. 

Don't worry. We'll fill you in. Think of Steampunk as a fashion movement. Like goth! Except steampunkers use more brown, less black. Although we still have pretty Victorian tendencies, we use a lot of metal. Gears, knobs, gauges and the like. It's like if, back in the day, everything went steam powered instead of using electricity. Think Jules Verne and H. G. Wells. It's very science fiction (and very stylish). 

Which is precisely why we're so excited about all this fabulous steam-punkery that has been popping up! The craft shows! The accessories! The costumes! Perhaps you and your friends or family would like to partake in a bit of steampunk shenanigans?

Fun Details 

If you know a teenager who may be so inclined, a good place to start may be with an outfit like our Teen Steampunk Girls Costume. This polyester costume has a dress with attached petticoat, pleather belts, plastic buckles, and gears printed on the skirt. It comes with hand-molded plastic goggles and a choker complete with plastic buckle and Hook and Loop fastener closure. The fingerless gloves are the same pleather and buckle details as the dress, and there are buttons and chain accessories to attach to the front of the dress as well.
